Martyrdom of Perpetua

       This document provides the testimony of Perpetua, a Christian saint who was martyred by Rome in 203.  Much of the document was apparently written by the 24 year old young woman herself, although the document ends with a conclusion written by one of the witnesses to her death.  The document is particularly interesting because of the prominence of its female heroine and insight it provides regarding Roman persecution of the early church.
