Didache (Teaching of the Twelve Apostles)

       This second century document is very interesting because it provides a number of sayings attributed to Jesus which closely the sayings in the synoptic gospels.  The content is very close to the type of document preserved in the New Testament canon.  It also provides an important early Christian witness to the manner in which baptism and the eucharist were practiced.
