A Word about Copyright Concerns...
All of the information on this page comes from three sources: (1) Dr. Phillips' own work; (2) older, public domain, materials; and (3) other scholars' web sites. Whenever possible, the original source of the various materials is noted. If anyone finds materials which fails to give appropriate credit to another source, please contact Dr. Phillips and he will make the necessary alterations in documentation or display of content.
The astute observer may wonder why Dr. Phillips has invested the necessary
energy to create this site since much of this information is available elsewhere
on the web (see webliography). The answer
is twofold:
First: the simple reality of bad links. Since other sites alter their internal links with
infuriating frequency, Dr. Phillips has found that linking to other sites can
leave his site with a series of bad links in a fairly brief time span.
Linking to existing sites has proven to be an unreliable source of consistent
access to data.
Second: the opportunity to provide added value. In many
cases, Dr. Phillips has enhanced the existing public domain documents by
additional proofreading, by updating archaic language or by enhancing the index
with additional html bookmarks.
For those who desire to use the materials on this page, feel free to use whatever is contained on these pages for non-profit educational purposes in high schools, colleges, universities, synagogues or churches. Please do not use any of this information for any profit or commercial purpose.
*NOTE: Please add my site www.thomasephillips.info to your web links. (That improves my placement on the web search engines and makes my site easier to find.)
