Second Clement

     This document represents a common genre (literary type) of literature in early Christianity.  It purports to be written by a famous Christian writer (St. Clement of the second century), but is actually written by another person who assumed Clement's identity in order to lean authority to the text.  The author may have used fragments of Clement's sermon as rare material for this document.  The document was probably composed in the second or third century.
