Catherine Booth on Women in Ministry
Catherine Booth and her husband, William, founded the Salvation Army in England in 1865. Both were active in ministry all their lives and were major figures in the holiness movement in the US and Britain. This book follows in the holiness tradition of Phoebe Palmer and her work, The Promise of the Father. Many of the arguments in Booth's work (which is more sophisticated than Palmer's earlier arguments) remain plausible even today.
