Introduction to 1 Clement
1 Clement is a second century document which reveals the tendencies of the emerging 'Great Church,' particularly in regard to the tendency to read the Hebrew Bible christologically, to construct women's virtue in terms of their submissiveness to men, and to idealize figures from the OT and early Christianity.
